Surviving a life threatening episode is cause for celebration. But for some, behind brave faces and rosy exteriors, lies a hidden fear that the menace hasn’t completely gone.

Global Warming

Our warming climate means future changes in how we all will live our lives. While most of these changes will be quite negative (extreme weather, Arctic shrinkage, rising sea levels, droughts, floods, etc.), here is something positive: tropical fruits and vegetables may soon be grown on Canadian soil. Sali Tabacchi forecasts a series of fictional food logos meant to open our eyes to these new possibilities. Both scary and delicious at the same time.

MND

Motor Neurone Disease (MND, aka ALS) is a debilitating neurological condition that affects the nerves in the brain and spinal stem that control voluntary muscles. MND is fatal and has a prognosis of two to five years. There is no treatment or cure. A friend of Sali Tabacchi has MND. A bicycle ride from Amsterdam to London has been organized to raise funds for MND research. We cannot be there physically to be a part of the ride, but we will be in spirit: through a series of logos to inspire the team on the road.

S is for Shelter

Shelter is a basic human right. This idea is so simple that even a child can understand it. This painting was donated to Design Hope Toronto, a group dedicated to bringing money to local organizations who help the homeless.
